Exceptional Thermals and Flying Conditions

From February to October, Brauneck offers outstanding thermal lift for paragliding. Early morning launches provide the best conditions before valley winds pick up in the afternoon. Later, these winds create perfect soaring opportunities along the mountain ridges, making for long and rewarding flights.

Thanks to optimal weather and elevation, Brauneck delivers some of the most stunning paragliding experiences in all of Germany – right at Munich’s doorstep.

Safety & Environmental Guidelines for Pilots

  • Use only designated launch and landing zones to protect local wildlife and nature.
  • Always check wind direction before launch – avoid tailwinds and crosswinds due to turbulence risk.
  • North of the Brauneck-Benediktenwand ridge is a wildlife sanctuary and must be overflown with at least 150 m altitude.
